Improving compliance to certification services

Industrialization

Justification

Justification

Access to local and international market is guaranteed where products and services are certified by a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) and yet the level of patronage for MBS certification schemes by local manufacturers and SMEs is low. Traders tend to shun certification due to lack of capacity in terms of both technical competence and capital outlay. The intervention to engage the local manufacturers and SMEs will therefore promote quality of locally produced products, facilitate import substitution and increase export base.
