Justification

Justification

Real-time digital data will enable the Cotton Council of Malawi and other stakeholders to monitor production, marketing and payments more effectively, supporting evidence-based planning, regulation and timely responses to emerging challenges.

A transparent, regulated and predictable cotton market will reduce risks for ginners, financiers and other investors, strengthen trust among value-chain actors, and encourage greater private sector investment in Malawi’s cotton industry.

Digitising market transactions will improve transparency in pricing, volumes traded, payments, and participation, reducing opportunities for manipulation and unfair trading practices.
